Delta Air Lines is set to pay nearly $114 million in profit-sharing with its more than 4,750 Michigan-based employees this week.
This year’s payout, being made Friday, is slightly more than the $110 million the airline distributed in 2023 to employees in Michigan. Eligible employees across Delta will receive an estimated 10% of their eligible earnings, which averages out to an additional five weeks of pay, officials said.

“Every day, Delta people prove themselves to be difference makers in this industry,” Delta CEO Ed Bastian said in a statement Tuesday. “I’m proud to recognize their unmatched professionalism, teamwork and dedication to excellence with one of our strongest profit-sharing years in Delta’s history.”
Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport is Delta's second-largest hub, following its Atlanta headquarters. The airline also operates out of 11 other Michigan airports. According to Delta, the airline served more 22.7 million passengers in Michigan in 2023.
Delta said the payout is significant as it celebrates the carrier's centennial. Delta said it has distributed more than $10 billion in profit sharing in the past 10 years.
